Amazing Time!

I went home (Virginia Beach) for the day yesterday and had an amazing time.  I got to spend the day with my little princess.  My niece is one of the best things that has happened to me.  She is the most beautiful little girl in the world.

We celebrated her birthday with a nice little dinner and some quality time.  She is such a big girl.  She told me she uses the potty and then showed me how she can write.

She can make the H for the name, she draws snakes and she can draw Mickey!  I couldn't be prouder of her and her parents.  With my brother having deployed multiple times at the beginning of her life, her mother did an amazing job.  My sister-in-law is an amazing mother and wife.  I couldn't have asked for a better match for my brother.  I love you guys!

Organization Day 1

I have been working on getting this place I call home together and things are slowly getting there.  I have put some more touches on the scrap/office space.  As a matter of fact I think it's getting pretty organized if I can say so myself.

The stamps have their shelf back and are at a level that I can see them and reach them.  I am not going to sort them by color groups this time because that was just too much to remember.  As long as they get used I am not worried about what order they are in.  I haven't decided what is going to go on the other shelf and I still have one more to hang.  I did hang a small bulletin board beside these that I will use as my vision board.  Below these shelves is where the printer and printer supplies will live.

These shelves will store other office supplies/stuff.  The baskets have coupons to filed, pictures to be scanned and my acrylic blocks for stamping.  The magazine boxes on the top shelf are incoming mail, bills, papers to file and misc.

This is the rest of the stuff, the shelves are labeled so I know where to put things back.

I should start by saying "Mom I took this with me when I moved.  Thank you!"  This is my filing system.  It sits on my desk for easy access.  This includes paid bills, lease information, car information and so forth.  This does not include any work information, that is on the other side of the room in a binder or magazine holder.  I do have a small file sorter next to this one for my PartyLite information.  I love file folders, if you can't tell.  Everything can be sorted into a folder of some sort.

I think I have made some amazing progress in the past couple days and can't wait to get the trash out of here and really see what I have done.  I will take final pictures when everything is done.

Shred Day 1 - Again!

I started the 30 Day Shred AGAIN!  This time I actually made it through day 1!  It was exhausting while at the same time rejuvenating!  I am so out of shape it's starting to scare me.  I didn't use the weights as they do in the video but I could still feel the tingle from my own resistance (or is that fat arms).  I hope that within a week I can report that I am using the weights.

The challenge will be to see what I eat at work tonight.  I do a great job of eating a salad and then I get bored and want some dessert.  Today I am going to put a fiber one bar in my purse and eat try to satisfy the craving with that.  I have to loss this weight or I don't get to go shopping in New York!  Shopping in New York will be a first for me but I want to look amazing when I do it.  I want to be able to try on clothes and jewelry and not feel  or look fat.  I want the bulge to be gone.  The people that want to go know that I have to loss the weight before I can go so they are encouraging me to eat better.  I will need to save some money as well but it will also be bonus month, so I will have a little extra to spend!

I plan to go to the gym tonight after work to get some solid cardio in for the day.  I have downloaded the podcast Couch to 5K in 10 weeks and that is the other program I plan to get motivated!  I would love to run for a cause and finish!  Keep following to see how things go!

Connect 4 Lunch

The day started with lunch at Famous Dave's for the Chamber of Commerce (Connect4Lunch).  It was great to know that I wasn't the only newbie but I sure was the youngest person at the table.  The lunch started with talking about the VT game, after they were done they looked at me and said do you watch football?  DO I WATCH FOOTBALL?  They didn't know who they were talking too.  I love football, probably the only thing on tv that I don't multi-task through (OK minimal multi-tasking!)!   The thing is I am not a fan of VT but when you go to school 2 exits away and live through the comparisons who would want to be a fan.  I love RU and will love RU for the rest of my life.  I wasn't a number and my classes were small enough that my professor knew if I was there or not.  I had great times and made some the greatest friends I will ever had.  OK OFF THE SOAP BOX back to the lunch.  I met some interesting gentlemen and learned about the Richmond area and some of the things it has to offer.

We did talk more about  football.  We were told we don't know how to tail-gate in Virginia.  Rob shared with us how they do it in Texas.  I might have to go South and experience real tail-gating.  It was a nice lunch and I look forward to meething more people from the Chamber through these lunches.  Thank you gentleman for a great lunch!

Putting things together

I am starting to put this place together and make it my home.  My first project is a picture wall.  I have the frames ready to hang on the wall and need to pick out the pictures that will go in them.  I will be hanging them picture less today so I can add the pictures at whatever time of day I choose.  I started this project with a simple set of 10 frames that I got from Kohl's.  I wanted more but when I went back with my Kohl's cash they were back to regular price, an expensive $40.  I then added some shells and starfish to glam them up for the beach theme living room.  I am in love with my new cheap frames.

I love them already and they aren't even hanging on my wall.  Now time to hang them.

They look adorable.  I can't wait to put the pictures in them and post again.
