It's been forever!

I haven't blogged in ages and don't seem to be able to find the time to blog.  I am working on a daily social media schedule.  I would love to blog about my business and the million other things going on in my life.  Stay tuned for the amazing things going on in my life.

Amazing Time!

I went home (Virginia Beach) for the day yesterday and had an amazing time.  I got to spend the day with my little princess.  My niece is one of the best things that has happened to me.  She is the most beautiful little girl in the world.

We celebrated her birthday with a nice little dinner and some quality time.  She is such a big girl.  She told me she uses the potty and then showed me how she can write.

She can make the H for the name, she draws snakes and she can draw Mickey!  I couldn't be prouder of her and her parents.  With my brother having deployed multiple times at the beginning of her life, her mother did an amazing job.  My sister-in-law is an amazing mother and wife.  I couldn't have asked for a better match for my brother.  I love you guys!

Organization Day 1

I have been working on getting this place I call home together and things are slowly getting there.  I have put some more touches on the scrap/office space.  As a matter of fact I think it's getting pretty organized if I can say so myself.

The stamps have their shelf back and are at a level that I can see them and reach them.  I am not going to sort them by color groups this time because that was just too much to remember.  As long as they get used I am not worried about what order they are in.  I haven't decided what is going to go on the other shelf and I still have one more to hang.  I did hang a small bulletin board beside these that I will use as my vision board.  Below these shelves is where the printer and printer supplies will live.

These shelves will store other office supplies/stuff.  The baskets have coupons to filed, pictures to be scanned and my acrylic blocks for stamping.  The magazine boxes on the top shelf are incoming mail, bills, papers to file and misc.

This is the rest of the stuff, the shelves are labeled so I know where to put things back.

I should start by saying "Mom I took this with me when I moved.  Thank you!"  This is my filing system.  It sits on my desk for easy access.  This includes paid bills, lease information, car information and so forth.  This does not include any work information, that is on the other side of the room in a binder or magazine holder.  I do have a small file sorter next to this one for my PartyLite information.  I love file folders, if you can't tell.  Everything can be sorted into a folder of some sort.

I think I have made some amazing progress in the past couple days and can't wait to get the trash out of here and really see what I have done.  I will take final pictures when everything is done.

Shred Day 1 - Again!

I started the 30 Day Shred AGAIN!  This time I actually made it through day 1!  It was exhausting while at the same time rejuvenating!  I am so out of shape it's starting to scare me.  I didn't use the weights as they do in the video but I could still feel the tingle from my own resistance (or is that fat arms).  I hope that within a week I can report that I am using the weights.

The challenge will be to see what I eat at work tonight.  I do a great job of eating a salad and then I get bored and want some dessert.  Today I am going to put a fiber one bar in my purse and eat try to satisfy the craving with that.  I have to loss this weight or I don't get to go shopping in New York!  Shopping in New York will be a first for me but I want to look amazing when I do it.  I want to be able to try on clothes and jewelry and not feel  or look fat.  I want the bulge to be gone.  The people that want to go know that I have to loss the weight before I can go so they are encouraging me to eat better.  I will need to save some money as well but it will also be bonus month, so I will have a little extra to spend!

I plan to go to the gym tonight after work to get some solid cardio in for the day.  I have downloaded the podcast Couch to 5K in 10 weeks and that is the other program I plan to get motivated!  I would love to run for a cause and finish!  Keep following to see how things go!

Connect 4 Lunch

The day started with lunch at Famous Dave's for the Chamber of Commerce (Connect4Lunch).  It was great to know that I wasn't the only newbie but I sure was the youngest person at the table.  The lunch started with talking about the VT game, after they were done they looked at me and said do you watch football?  DO I WATCH FOOTBALL?  They didn't know who they were talking too.  I love football, probably the only thing on tv that I don't multi-task through (OK minimal multi-tasking!)!   The thing is I am not a fan of VT but when you go to school 2 exits away and live through the comparisons who would want to be a fan.  I love RU and will love RU for the rest of my life.  I wasn't a number and my classes were small enough that my professor knew if I was there or not.  I had great times and made some the greatest friends I will ever had.  OK OFF THE SOAP BOX back to the lunch.  I met some interesting gentlemen and learned about the Richmond area and some of the things it has to offer.

We did talk more about  football.  We were told we don't know how to tail-gate in Virginia.  Rob shared with us how they do it in Texas.  I might have to go South and experience real tail-gating.  It was a nice lunch and I look forward to meething more people from the Chamber through these lunches.  Thank you gentleman for a great lunch!

Putting things together

I am starting to put this place together and make it my home.  My first project is a picture wall.  I have the frames ready to hang on the wall and need to pick out the pictures that will go in them.  I will be hanging them picture less today so I can add the pictures at whatever time of day I choose.  I started this project with a simple set of 10 frames that I got from Kohl's.  I wanted more but when I went back with my Kohl's cash they were back to regular price, an expensive $40.  I then added some shells and starfish to glam them up for the beach theme living room.  I am in love with my new cheap frames.

I love them already and they aren't even hanging on my wall.  Now time to hang them.

They look adorable.  I can't wait to put the pictures in them and post again.

Procrastination!

I have some time off this weekend and have so many fun things that I want to do.  The problem is there are so many things that I need to get done around the house on my time off and I just don't think that I am going to get them done.  As a matter of fact while continuing to put things off I looked up the definition of PROCRASTINATION on Urbandictionary.com and got the best definition ever.

A similar experience to masturbation, it feels good while you're doing it, but it sucks afterwards when you realize that you just fucked yourself.

I was going to loss it when I read this, the absolute best definition I have ever read in my life.  Well the dryer just stopped guess I should get up and fold some clothes...Good night!

Scrapbooking or Not!

So at work I must have said something about scrapbooking.  One of the guys was out of town and happened to be at Michael's.  He saw they were having a sale and thought of me and when he got back he had to let me know about the sale.  I haven't scrapped since I moved to Richmond but needed a quick gift for an employee.  I thought why not make a 6x6 album instead of spending money.  I already have all of the supplies.  I then needed a little motivation and some ideas to get the chains moving in this rusty brain.  I came across The Sketch Library blog and fell in love.  I kept searching and came across A Passion for Stamps.  There will be many more to come later....Sissy called and we started searching fairies for a little project of hers.  I of course was side tracked by my lovely sister.  She did introduce me to an amazing site as well Amy Brown Art.  OMG was I overwhelmed and she would tell you that I was completely A.D.D. during this process.  Anyways it was a nice night surfing them web and getting very little scrapbooking done.  Good night WORLD!

New favorite item!

My sister had this really cool coffee maker and I didn't appreciate it until I got the coffee maker myself.  Now I have this amazing toy and love every bit of this bad boy.  I am not wasting any coffee and I am getting my morning coffee meaning I'm not grumpy all day.  I thought I would share it with everyone.  It's on sale at Wal-mart for $17, the purple is really hot pink.  They also have green and black.

Happy Coffee Drinking!

Relaxation

After an eventful day yesterday, I decided to travel to my alma mater and visit one of my favorite places and favorite people.  I am spending the next couple days relaxing with my sister and my school.  I may even take a trip or two down memory lane.  Keep posted for pictures of me 6 years after the best 4 years of my life.

We were going to go to the zoo this afternoon but the weather doesn't seem to be cooperating with us so I think that we are going to explore some new places in Radford and Blacksburg.  I'll be back on blogger later today!

Progress!

The scrap/office is coming together quite nicely.  I started to paint the shelving several days ago and was over having everything all over the floor, so I decided to hang them.  I have unpacked several containers of stuff and have just a little more to go.  The walls are still a little bare for me but I am working on it or at least plan to tomorrow.  The neighbor came down today to tell me I was causing a disturbance.  Well she hasn't heard anything yet because my favorite tools are my hammer and my drill.  I have a few more things to hang in this room and haven't started in the other rooms.  When I'm done I promise she won't hear it as often!  I've started a short list of things that I still need to get for the room, I think I want just a little more shelving for the walls of course.  I may even start looking for that dream desk to go under the shelving.

As well as making progress in my scrap/office, I have started making my vision board again.  I have some things cut out and plan to put that dream desk on their.  My new laptop will be on their as well.  I have already started shopping for it.

I also found some new things on GOOGLE and have started to fall in love.  I have always been a YAHOO fan but I think I am moving on to better things.  I can't wait for HALLOWEEN, I can upgrade the phone and I think it's going to be a DROID INCREDIBLE unless they come out with something better.  Time to get back to work!

Loving my new job!

I tell people all the time that I love my new job!  And I'm not saying that I didn't love my old location.  I love the people I work with.  Very rarely do I have to push the kitchen guys to get things done.  These pictures are an example of why I love them.

I feel blessed to have be in such a great place!

Scrap/Office

So I got the apartment with 2 bedrooms because I wanted to get back into scrapping.  I went to visit my sister this weekend and she has her scrap room set up and is using it for scrapping and homework.  I would love to use mine for scrapping and work.  When I say work I would love to get some marketing things going on from home.  I would also love to spend some time deciding what I want to do with PartyLite.  So I decided that I would tackle this project over the next couple of days.  These are the before pictures of my scrap/office.

The theme throughout most of the house is beach but I think that both the scrap/office and bedroom are going to be purple.  On my way to work I am going to pick up some purple paint for some shelving I plan to hang over the table (thanks Lo)!  After the scrap/office I will move to the bedroom and where I will be moving some furniture around and creating a few things to place on the wall.  It would be great to have them both done this weekend.  I have a lot of work to do but I will post as things get done.

9 Years

Nine years ago today I lost my HERO!  I lost my grandfather and that was the day my life changed forever.  I still can't talk or think about him without tears rolling down my face.  I still struggle getting through conversations involving one of the greatest men in my life.  I look at my grandfather and thought that he would never leave me.  I realized nine years ago that God needed him more than me and it cried for days hoping that he would come back and that things would change.  I still wait for the day that he will call me and tell how proud he is of me.  I wait for that inspirational letter to arrive in the mail, signed for him and Grandma.  I look back at cards and letters that he gave me as a child and remember the wonderful man that was and always will be a part of my life.  The memories of my siblings and cousin Jenny all include my grandpa.  I feel for my younger cousins as they will never have what the four of experienced.  They won't have the amazing experiences and thousands of pictures that the four of us have.  I love you grandpa!   Thank you for everything that gave me and continue to give me from HEAVEN!  We will meet again and I can't wait to see how proud of us you are!  Below are some of those amazing pictures and memories that you left with us all!

I think this may have been the day or I should say one of the many days that I could see how great of a person you are.  I fell in love my grandpa right away.

Grandpa with two of his girls.

Time spent in Baltimore with Grammy and Poppi almost always included Inner Harbor!

Some of my favorite memories are from the basement.  We could play with all of Poppi's toys, especially that one that made the most noise.  We made our own music and had the time of our lives.  If we could go back to the basement today and sing and dance like nobody was watching!

And playing bartender!

These memories will never go away!  Thank you a million times over!  I love you!

Memorial Day

Today we celebrate the brave men and women of the past, present and future that fight for our freedom!  I was raised in the military and support our troops to the fullest.  Our troops are made up of an amazing group of people.  Thank you all for what you do!

Can't Sleep

Tonight has been a HELL of a night!  First the night started with.....I don't get it but I do know that it made for an interesting night.....I wish communication wasn't the hardest part of this job.  If I had just been told the situation at the beginning of this disaster it wouldn't have been as bad as it turned out.  I am just over it for the evening and don't get it at all.  To make matters worse I come home and I snapped my air card again.  This is just turning into a horrible day and I don't know if I can take anything else.  I may have to take a sleeping pill tonight because I can't seem to fall asleep either.  I think I may just have too many things on the mind.

Love of Chocolate!

So I was told about this amazing chocolate store....Leah you are the DEVIL....and it was amazing and overwhelming at the same time.  The best part was when a girl told her her friend that she had only spend $35 this visit and last time she was there she spent over $70.  I can see how it can be done but you need to have some self control.  I was able to control myself to the extent of $7.56.  I will have to take my       choco-holic sister with me and let her spend the big bucks.  That will have to be after I take her to dinner on Cary Street.

As for today, everything that could have driven me crazy did!  First the birds were up at 5:15 and it seemed like every bird in Richmond was outside my window.  I got up earlier than I wanted and headed to work, when I got to work the alarm system wouldn't shut off.  I then needed to get the TV down to do some orientation paperwork, I dropped the TV and slipped my coffee everywhere.  Then the computer wouldn't settle the credit cards and the phone was off he hook.  I was going blow until my staff reminded me of why I love them so much.  They make me laugh and some time I don't why I am laughing.  It really changed my perception of the day.  The day just seemed to get better and I didn't think of the challenges I faced this morning.  I went to a reception for National Tourism Week and it was not what I expected.  That's when the trip to FOR THE LOVE OF CHOCOLATE comes in.  After that I had an appointment with the other gym in town.  I had been to Gold's and wasn't really impressed but I had driven by American Family from the interstate and at work and then I went inside.  AHHHHHHHHHHH!!  I found my home and I have an appointment Friday morning to get started in a workout program.  They had 6 pages of classes and everything was included.  He beat the cost of Gold's and just made me feel as if I was already a member.  Now relaxing before I have to take my car to the doctor in the morning.

BTW - I LOVE YOU!!

Merchant's Auto

I spoke with the man last week about getting my oil changed and fuel injection service completed, we worked out a nice deal so that it would only run me about $70.  First mistake is I should have gotten it in writing but I will be sure to do that next time.  After they complete what I think is what we talked about I was in for a bigger surprise, the check engine light came on.  I have to take the car back on Thursday so he can take it to the dealership and they can determine why the light is on.  Then I start to leave and realized that they oil change was never completed, so I go back inside and remind him of the kind deal we made and he has them do the oil change.  Well I take the car to Advance Auto to connect it to the computer and they tell me that the check engine light could be on because the fuel service was not done correctly and that there may be issues with the oil change as well.  Let's just say that I am over it!  Oh yeah and they didn't tell me that they recommend the belts be replaced, I had to read that on the service report.  Which belts, all of them and the labor will run you about $142 and he can get a good deal on the parts.  If you think that I am going to let you service my truck again, you have lost your mind.  Especially when I came in to get regular/preventative maintenance done in the first place.  The sad part is that I haven't used Merchant's since I was in college with my first car and I probably won't use them again!

On a better note....when I was driving to Advance I found another mall.  Man this place is dangerous!  Within a 10 mile radius of my house there are 3 malls that I have found.  I didn't stop because I might need my money for car repairs...but when the time comes to shop I will have to hit mall #3!  It was the bright in my day.

My Laptop Works!

My wonderful sister let me use her re-install disc and now my laptop is working again!!!  I am so excited and ready to start blogging again.  I felt so disconnected from the world without my laptop and thought I would need to buy another one.  Just wanted to share some good news!!!

Still Loving it!

So I have been in Richmond for some time now and am STILL LOVIN IT!!!  I can't say that I don't like what I am doing and where I am living.  I haven't finished unpacking but I will be done before my sister comes to visit this weekend.  I will also have a new couch and move the tv to the living room.  I can't wait to see things finally come together.  The next step will be to purchase some small things and really make it home.  I can't wait.  Speaking of making purchases....I got a beautiful chair over the weekend for FREE and plan to recover and paint this bad-boy.  I will incorporate it in my living room (red, black and cream).  It will be the start of many projects to come.  The shopping list doesn't start or end with the chair.  I will be visiting Lauren next weekend and we are going do some bargain shopping for the day.  I can't say it enough but I am excited to see everything done and set-up in my new home.  I will post pictures soon of the progress made...hopefully the VISTA disk will help the laptop and I will be able to blog more often.

OMG!!!

So the laptop is down, I am hoping to re-install Windows tomorrow and fingers crossed she will rejoin my life.  If not I will have to spend some time in the business center of the apartment complex for a few weeks.  I have been out pricing a new laptop or even desktop but don't know what I want to do.  I know that I have to buy some living room furniture and would rather spend the money of somewhere to sit in the next week.

Speaking of somewhere to sit.  I think I have made a decision on a place to live.  I found an apartment that was a little bit older than the townhouse I fell in love with.  It's also like $400 cheaper!!!  I will be able to put some money away and/or spend some money on myself.  I have 2 weeks before I have to move to a place and can't wait to get situated.  I am still very excited about work and really looking forward to being done with training.  I love this place!

This past weekend we went to the most beautiful park I have ever seen.  The best part is that you can't drive there you have to walk or ride you bike.  We walked for a while, up hills and down hills, up rocks and back down.   I watched JP climb down a fence and then I walked around it was pretty fun to watch him climb down.  We then went to Hollywood Cemetery.   I was amazing and brought back old memories of time with Edwina.  I wish there had been a place like this in Radford when we took Death and Dying.

Well not much else is going on.  I should be back to blogging if there computer reboots tomorrow.  I miss everyone and hope to see you this weekend.

Week 2 done-Jillian's 30 Day

Week 2 review is done and sent to the corporate office. I meet and exceed expectations! I love what I am doing and can't wait to finish training and working with the store. I have started week 3 of training, which means only 3 weeks left. It also means 3 weeks to get the housing stuff together, just a little more stress to add to the next 3 weeks. I am searching for furniture and housing all at the same time. First buy will be a bed to sleep in, then will come living room furniture, then dining room and lastly will be accents for throughout the house. I went and looked at another place today and wasn't too happy with it. I am pretty set on my favorite!

I have also started Jillian's 30-day Shed and struggled through the first workout. I am going to try and do it again later tonight. My arms are already hurting from the first attempt. I can't wait to shed the weight and see some results. I have also decied that I will be watching what I eat a lot more closely. Minimal to no-carbs for a week or two and then I will bring them back in (South Beach with some modifications). Hopefully the stress won't cause any weight gain.

Study Time!

2 days left in the 2nd week of training.  Pizza has been so much fun and the guys are doing a great job training me.  The remind me a lot of my home store.  I told one of them today that I was slow and he said SH*T you have only worked 2 days!!!  I loved that response.  I made a lot more pizzas today and helped a little with prep.  Now I am taking a break from studying because everything is starting to look the same.  I know more than I thought I knew and I am noticing some patterns that will help me.  I have to take a test on Saturday and I won't settle for doing OK!  I want to be PERFECT....it's a reflection of all those that have thought me through the stores (MacArthur and Short Pump)!

As for the house hunting I think that I found a place.  It's a townhouse not far from work and just amazing.  I had my heart set on an apartment until I saw this BAD BOY!  I fell in LOVE!  It's 2 bedrooms, 2.5 baths and has the most amazing kitchen.  The cabinets and everything are black, which goes with the colors that I want to make my home.  After I was APPROVED for my new home, I went window shopping.  I found the colors for my bathroom at Home Goods.  They had some bathroom towels that were brown, teal and purple.  It ties everything together!  I can't wait to decorate!

Well back to studying!

More Training

I have had some great days at work.  Some long days but some really great days.  I have started training on pizza this week.  I am speaking and understanding a little more Spanish every day.  I am impressed with myself!  I knew a lot more than I thought on pizza and don't think it will be all that rough the rest of the week.  I am a little worried about the testing this weekend but I know I can do it.  I have started studying and will spend the next couple days studying some more.

I also did some apartment shopping today.  I think I found the place I want to move too.  It's a little more than I wanted to spend but it's just amazing how wonderful it will be.  I want to have a second room for those people that tell me they want to visit and I want some scrapbook space.  Scrapbooking will be my relaxation and it will save me money on gifts to friends and family.

I am also shopping for a gym, I need to get back into the groove of things.  The apartment I am staying in has a gym but I don't feel comfortable walking into a dark empty building.  They also have a tanning bed and I should at least use that while I am here.  I went to a local gym to get information and they couldn't give me information because nobody was there to provide the information.  It's a 24 gym which would be great for me in the evening.  I may try and see how far away the Gold's Gym is, I really enjoyed going there.  Well it's time for bed and sleepy-sleep.  Another day on pizza with some amazing guys and one EAGER WOMAN!

Day 3-Felt like Day 1

Day 3 felt like Day 1 of school.  It was my first day of many in the kitchen and boy do I have a lot to learn.  I felt like I knew some kitchen stuff but when I started in the prep station today I knew that I had a long way to go.  I worked with some great people and they were so patient with me.  I need to work on my knife cutting skills as I am really slow and don't quite know how to make it look as good as they do.

Fun story:  I was following the gentleman that was teaching me and we went to the freezer to get something (I don't remember what it was).  I didn't realize that the freezer had a step to get inside, so when I met the step I almost ate it.  But the story gets better...the team does a great job of keeping things clean so the bottom of my pants were wet all day.  As we were standing in the freezer I had to pull really hard on my pants to get them loose from the ground because they were frozen.

The day got better after that and I had some time to work on my workbook.  I also spoke to my Training Support person and learned a few more things.  She was full of information but to be honest at 4 something in the afternoon my brain was fried from the amount of information I was given.  I also got some chill time with Becky...she seems like a pretty cool person, to bad she has to leave.  OH YEAH!!!!  J.P.T. will be coming to work with me for some time and I can't wait to have him here.  BTW J.P.T. I'm not sharing my washer and dryer with you.

It will be early to bed for me tonight as tomorrow will be a long day.  I am going to work at 7 and will be going home for Hockey and then back here to be at work on Sunday at 7.  I still have to go to Wal-mart to get some white t-shirts, I was able to get away with my sports bra at my old store but my new boss told me a story about a guy that was told to get white shirts and never came back.  I guess I really need those white shirts, I also need some socks.

Day 2 - 6AM is EARLY!!!

So I got up at 6am for work and BOY was it early!!!!  I had a good day at work and learned a few new things and reviewed old things.  I met new people from my NEW team!  I really like the independence of this team, not that I didn't enjoy the need for me with my OLD team!  I met a bar regular which reminded me of the wonderful people that have been my regulars.  They made work so worth going!!  OH YEAH....I didn't eat at work, which is a good thing!

I was very proud of myself for not eating at work and coming home to eat an amazing dinner.  I came home and cooked some orange chicken from Trader Joe's (the best ever and a great option for Chinese food).  After eating a small portion of my orange chicken I fell asleep on the couch and took a nap that was way to long.  I needed the nap but I need to quickly adjust to the early mornings and learn to manage the STUDY time at home.

I will be going home to watch some of my favorite men play hockey on Saturday night!  I am extremely excited to see the men in action.  They are a reward for a hard week of work.  I will have to send my mom a list of my must haves, I need a lot of things from home and don't feel the need to spend anymore money on things that I have at home.

The home search is a continuing effort.  The are beautiful places in the area but when I went to CVS I saw some more places to check out.  I have to come to the realization that I am making more money now and can afford something a little more expensive and beautiful.  I think that I am going to live in the Short Pump area, they have everything that you need and more.  I am ready for a place of my own that I can call home.  This apartment is nice but I want my furniture and my scrap space.

Moved!

I have moved at least into temporary housing for the next 6 weeks.  I am now living in Short Pump and loving the area.  I did some shopping at Trader Joe's, Whole Foods and Tom Lenord's.  There are too many places to shop and a lot of shopping to be done but not till I find a permanent place to live.  I did groceries tonight and was so proud of myself.  The total before coupons was $188, I saved $54 with coupons.  I got a lot of healthy good and plan to eat at home.

I have only been to work 1 day and it's got a lot of similarities and differences.  They people are so quiet and independent.  Everything is so calm! And organized!  I am super excited!  Although, I miss everyone at home and all my friends.  I miss having everything that I need and not needing to go out and buy things (because you left them at home).

I hope to be blogging more, talk to you soon.

Promotion

I got a promotion at work this past week and will be moving to the Short Pump area of Richmond!  I can't wait for the move.  I am searching for places to live and will find a great place.  As soon I have a new home I will begin crafting and decorating.  I can't wait to share the things that I create and decorate.  I will post everything on my blog!

Today's Workout

I was dressed and ready to go to the gym.  I walked out the door and headed to car and remember that I left my workout watch.  I then came back and decided that I didn't have enough time to get to the gym and get the workout in that I wanted to get in.  I had to be at work for a short presentation, only to get there and not need to be there.  So I left work and made it to the gym before the rush.  I got some cardio in and some circuit training.  I was doing the circuit alone for the first round and then all of a sudden people wanted to use the equipment.  It drove me crazy so I went and did some abs and returned to my cardio.

Good start to the day

I started the day off with a healthy breakfast (an apple and a chocolate mocha Fiber One bar). It was an amazing start to a new day. The goal is still 50 pounds by May 1st. I then went to the gym and did some time on the treadmill, I actually did a little jogging. I also did some circuit training but got frustrated because people all of a sudden wanted to use the circuit, there was nobody using it when I started. I need to include some abs into my training and I think that I will be a little happier with my workout. The challenge will be to see what I eat when I get to work, it's the hardest part of my day.

At work...

It MLK Day and I am working the Ice Rink at MacArthur Mall today.  Business isn't to bad but I am bored out of my mind so I am surfing through some decorating blogs taking ideas that I love and posting them on my blog so I don't have to search for them later.

This first idea is using chalkboard paint, as a former teacher I love the idea of having a chalkboard in the house.  When I have my house I may do one in each room, although that might over do it.

I also love these ideas.  Use a throw as a table runner (BHG.com) or use a throw blanket to decorate a chair, this one shows a Chenile blanket (MidwestLiving.com).

More decor and things to do

As I continue to surf different blogs I see more things that I want.

I want to make this in purple and silver/white.  I think this would be amazing on my door but torquise is not my color.  I think a beautiful color with either to white or maybe silver.

These will be made in purple and silver for next years Christmas decor.  I love these!!!

There are two things I love in this picture.  The first being the vase with the postcards, the Young House Love blog stated that they sent themselves a postcard when they were on vacation and placed them in the vase when they received them.  They also framed keys from places they have lived before, cute idea.

The Young House Love also blogged about placing their memories in jars.  Each jar is labeled with where they visited.  Each jar contained keepsakes from the trips that were made and were displayed on a shelf.

I love this idea with corks, as a candle consultant and a bartender, I can't wait to surround a great smelling candle with wine corks.
Enough surfing for one night.

When I have a house....

As I have been reading other blogs I have seen some amazing things about peoples homes.  I found a couple of things that I want.  I am saving my ideas on my blog so I don't have to search for these things again.

This is the most beautiful shelving I have seen in a long time and would love to have this either in a bathroom or my PLAY room.  I can just see my scrapbook materials stacked on here.  I can also see towels wrapped along with ribbon wrapped around them.  The only issue I am having with it is the color I don't know if I could handle the gold.

I love to have pictures on my walls, every place that I have rented as charged me for the holes in the walls.  I don't think that you can call a home "HOME" unless you add your own touch.  This is how I would like to begin my photo wall but I think it would be pictures of family and friends.  Definately in the PLAY (aka scrap) room and it could also be done in the living room around my giant clock.
